Drive-Through Food Pantry

Dear Friends in Christ,

COVID-19 has changed our lives.  Some of us are struggling greatly.  Most of us live with fears and concerns we didn’t have 8 weeks ago.  All of us are feeling a little lonely.  Life is hard.

But, our calling as God’s people is the same.  And He continues to invite us into the work He is already doing in this world.  We still have opportunities to love our neighbors as God calls us to do.

One of the opportunities we have before is our drive-through food pantry.  While one of our members, Art, has been leading the charge on this, we would love to get more of you involved and expand our reach.

So, every Saturday from 11am – 2pm we encourage you to drop off food items from the list below at church (625 E. Dundee Rd. Arlington Heights, IL 60004).  Below is a list of what we need, however, any items (that are not expired) will be accepted.  If you are able to help us collect the food as it is dropped off, please click here to sign up.

  • Cereal
  • Boxes of Pasta
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Cans of Fruit
  • Cans of Vegetables
  • Cans of Soup
  • Cans of Tuna
  • Cans of Beans
  • Prepared Boxed Meals (i.e. Hamburger Helper)
  • Peanut Butter
  • Jelly
  • Paper Towel Rolls
  • Toilet Paper
  • 1lb Bags of White Rice

The food that we collect on Sundays will be organized and bagged by a group of volunteers on Tuesdays from 11am – 3pm.  We would love to have you join us if you are able.  Click here to sign up.

Finally, the drive-through food pantry will take place Thursdays from 11am – 3pm.  If you or someone you know would be blessed by a bag of groceries, please come!  We are also looking for a few volunteers each week to help pass out these groceries.  Click here to sign up.

To all of you considering volunteering, please know that no experience is necessary.  Someone will be there to show you what to do.  This would be a great opportunities for couples and families to serve together.  If you do not serve with someone you live in, you will be asked to keep a 6 foot distance from the person you serve with.  Masks will be required.

To be honest, I am excited to see how God uses us through this.  What a beautiful opportunity we have to lives as the Church.  Those of us who have been blessed will give.  Those who are in need will receive.  And through it all we pray that Christ be glorified and that His love be proclaimed!
