The Month of May in Matthew

The Month of May in Matthew

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

On April 23rd, 2020 we got word from our Governor that our Shelter in Place order is extended through the month of May.  That means at least another month of isolation for all of us.  Another month stuck inside.  Another month of loneliness, questions, and fears.

As I thought about what I need now more than ever, I knew what it was right away.  It’s what I always need:  Jesus.  And I know you need Him too, especially now.

So, how about we spend the month of May following Jesus through the Gospel of Matthew?  If we each read one chapter of the book a day, we’ll be able to watch His life from birth to resurrection.  I wonder what He could show us?  I’m sure it’s something wonderful.  I wonder how we’ll be changed?  I’m sure it’ll be for our good.

Each week, I (Pastor Peter) will lead a Zoom video call to recap what we read and offer a brief reflection.  These calls will take place Wednesdays at 7pm.  The first one will begin May 6th.  The invitation will be sent out in his weekly email.  If you don’t already receive it, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page, and he will add you to the list!

If you are not able to make the Zoom meeting, Pastor Peter will record a brief audio devotion that will got out in a telephone call Wednesday evenings at 7pm.  If we don’t have your phone number on record at the church (or if you are unsure if we do) please fill out the form below as well.
